Trinity State of the Arts

Trinity College Colac’s showcase of the Arts on Friday night was a display of student triumph with a range of productions, performance and 3D and 2D art pieces.

The Trinity College Gala Night commenced with solo and duet performances from Oscar, Jorja and Charlotte, Diamond, Anastasia and Indi and Michael in the foyer of the Jubilee Centre as families arrived and enjoyed refreshments served by students.

In the upstairs gallery, artworks were on display, highlighting an exciting range of thought-provoking sculptures and paintings from Trinity Visual Art students.

Our guests were then invited into the auditorium, settling in for a night of incredible entertainment that spanned soul-enriching vocal duets to the rocking sounds of Monochrome Rainbow and The Elliminations.

Our new Arts Captains, Logan and Biddy, were masters of ceremony for the evening, announcing the acts and swapping hats to join their peers centre stage as part of the performances.

The Junior Rock Band opened the live performances with some great tunes to set the scene, followed by a stunning vocal solo from Kieley.

Lola in Year 10 performed a beautiful self-choreographed dance piece that told the story of the emotional pain experienced from anxiety, and Jesse, Nat and Audrey gave the audience some fabulous harmonies with a wonderful song set.

Trinity Vocal Tutor, Ms Natalie Atkinson, lent her exceptional talent to sing a duet with Annie from Year 9, whose ethereal performance was outstanding and left the audience stunned before bursting into applause.

The fantastic new kids on the block, Monochrome Rainbow, showed off their developing skills with great drums and bass providing solid support for some impressive electric guitar riffs while Logan and Biddy harmonised on vocals.

The versatility was on show with our award-winning Vocal Trio of Kieley, Jorja and Logan showing exactly why they earned silver at the Royal South Street Eisteddfod in Ballarat earlier this year.

Our Vocal Ensemble was absolutely incredible with their acapella pieces that blew the audience away and the live performances were complemented with short movie productions from our Media students, Tara, Brooke and Caitlin, that certainly packed a punch with their messaging and visuals.

The Elliminations wrapped up the fantastic event with their toe-tapping tunes that brought the dance floor to life and highlighted the incredible talent and versatility of the Trinity Music students.

Congratulations to everyone involved for an exceptional evening that provided an incredible homage of the state of the Arts at Trinity College.
